D Day

I cried last night. Much have been thought before I decided to make this move. It was certainly not easy and painful. Emotions has always the deadlock of Libra.

It is just sad that frankness and concern about what has been said is thought as a means of negotiation. Maybe I trust too much in man's words. Or maybe i did subconciously, as a friend suggest. I do not know and will not comment.

Maybe what I have done is unnecessary. Should have been as determined as Taurus and just do it. Well, I should learn to put less emotion in work int he future. My lover has commented I have rather low EQ, and to survive in today's world, you need to have high EQ.

Super heavy heart still as I end here. All I hope is a better future in the months ahead. I have decided and so may this is a good decision. I pray it is.

Taking a new step, uttering a new word, is what people fear most.

12 Days to NDP 2006

I have always like National Day. I like the atmosphere. Red beings crowded in the stadium cheering and waving flags. Not forgetting the beautiful fireworks not only on 9 Aug, but also every weekends during the firework carnival in celebration of the nation's birthday.

Well, it maybe partly because it's a public holiday, which many longed for after May. But I think the main reason is it makes me, or most Singaporeans patriotic again. Ha ha, on that day, all are suddenly in love and happy to be Singaporeans.

Singapore is turning 41 years old this year. This is also the last year that NDP will be held in the National Stadium. I suppose many will miss it, especially those who have wonderful memories enjoying NDP in it. Sigh, I still remember those were the times...I queued up with my friends overnight for the NDP tickets before the e-balloting started. All Dressed in red and screaming for no reasons. The flag, the pledge and the national athem. What a celebration.

Happy Birthday Singapore!

Soulmate vs Lover

Had a coversation with a friend recently. We were discussing the difference between a soul mate and a lover. According to www.dictionary.com, a soul mate is someone for whom you have a deep affinity with; a lover is one who loves another, especially one who feels sexual love.

Well personally, I feel soul mate is probably someone you can really talk to. He just knows what you are thinking, on the same wavelength. Sometimes there is no need for words and yet can also understand each other. And lover is probably someone whom you have affections for and is a significant part of your life. Soul mate and lover can be the same person, but most of the times they are different.

Hmm...so will a soul mate be a better lover? I guess only those who have soul-mate = lover will know. But I guess one needs much courage and confidence to move from the status of soulmate to a lover. After-all, the relationship of being soul-mates seems much more lasting than lovers.

Every tomorrow has two handles.
We can take hold of it with the handle of anxiety
or the handle of faith.
Henry Ward Beecher

I would say I am fortunate. In the midst of the unpredictables, I have friends who stood by me. They may not be really close, but they are sincere friends who offer me the listening ears, the reliance I need, and the smiles and assurance that goes a long distance.

I am sure, whatever that lies for me tomorrow, these friends will be there for me. Though I have yet to decide the road that I should walk, they give me the strength to carry on and the sanity I need in this cross-road of my life.

Thank you my friends ... A Friend In Need Is A Friend Indeed.

Forecast of the day - 17/7/06

Tarot reading

Your emotional situation isn't that great today, JOY. With the Hanged Man and the High Priestess there's precious little chance of you spreading your wings. You're feeling rather discouraged and apathetic about work and towards those close to you, or towards your partner if you have one. Don't let it get you down - the sun's bound to shine tomorrow! At work, you may feel that your abilities are not being fully appreciated. Despite the obvious talents lavished upon you by the Empress, the Hanged Man is about to sow the seeds of doubt in the admiration of your colleagues or your friends. You'll do everything right and then you'll be criticized for doing a bad job! The image people have of you today will be enough to drive you crazy!

Daily Horoscope

Disturbing dreams or unsettling moods could come your way today, causing you to wonder if something is wrong, or if something bad is going to happen. Let it go, Joy; if anything goes wrong at all it's not likely to be anything major. A recent event could have triggered old impressions from the past that are causing these feelings. You could also be picking up the moods of others, as your intuition is very high today.

Seems like I am highly unbalanced today. Indeed, I just feel disturbed, unsettled. A bit worrisome; Dunno what lies for me in the road to come. It is certainly getting me down. Well, Joy breathe...breathe....You will be all right ... breathe

Change

All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.
Anatole France

Any change, even a change for the better, is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts.
Arnold Bennett

Change is the only constant thing in the world. It is an undeniable fact. But the decision to make changes is often nerve-wrecking and requires courage and some encourgement.

To be pulled between the present comfort zone + known environment and the future which seems promising and yet unpredictable... In the crossroad, not knowing where you should turn to, I suppose many of us have faced this kinda of situation in our life. What will you do?

Toss a coin? Pluck the petals of the flowers? Turn to the stars? Hug the Buddha's leg? Well, leave it to the hands of the mystery of life if you wish. But do not blame on the coin or the flower if you were to regret one day.

The rationals will weigh the pros and cons of all sides and decide promptly their decision; The emotionals will be torn in making changes; The braves will just go with their gut feeling. Changes...dun you hate them??

If we don't change, we don't grow. If we don't grow, we aren't really living. - Gail Sheehy

Peace

I went with a friend to the National Library over the weekend to see an exhibition "Building a culture of peace" by the SOKA Gakkai association. It wasn't exactly big or eye-catching. But the exhibits really sink into your heart.

Peace is what many World pagent's contestants asked for, just like Sandra Bullock in the movie, Ms Congenality. Actuallly, peace is something attainable if everyone practises the following. But I suppose it only exists in the ideal world.

"Do not do to others what you do not want them to do to you"
Confucius - Analects

"When you light the path before another person, you brighten your own."
Buddhist-Nichiver

Do you pray for peace???

"Nothing can bing you peace but yourself"
Ralph Waldo Emerson

"It isn't enough to talk about peace. Once must believe in it. And it isn't enough to believe in it. One must work at it.
Eleana Roosevelt

Inspiring Story

I just heard the story over at Y.E.S FM 933. It did get me thinking, so let me share with you.

Once upon time, there is this King. He dreamt that his hair was gone, i.e. became bald, and when he woke up, he was feeling uneasy. Thus, he got a renowned dream interpreter to help him decipher this dream.

This dream interpreter sighed and said,"One of your kins will leave this world soon, just as the hair fall from your head. It is an unlucky omen."

Upon hearing that, the King got angry and commanded the guards to take down this dream interpreter and kill him. But, the dream continues to disturb the King. So, he seeked another dream interpreter for advice.

The second dream interpreter congrats the King and said,"Congratulations, Your Majesty. This dream says that you will live longer than your kins."

The King was relieved and a smile spreaded accoss his face. He commanded the guards to bring the second dream interpreter to collect his rewards. One of these guards was bewildered and asked the man beside him," What you have said is actually what the first dream interpreter has interpreted. But why the King was not angry?"

He smiled and answered," Yes, the gest is the same. But I phrase it to the likings of the King. He heard what he wants to hear."

The morale of the story: It does not hurt to phrase the truth to the heart of the listener.

Deep Breathing

Breathing can make great impacts to your health and happiness.

Many of us actually do shallow breathing, rather than deep breathing. So which group do you belong?

To find out if you're a shallow breather, try Zi's simple test: Put your palms against your lower abdomen and blow out all the air. Now, take a big breath. If your abdomen expands when you inhale and air seems to flow in deeply to the pit of your stomach, you're on the right track to happier and healthier life.

Oxygen is fuel for your body as is food. Since there are no calories in oxygen, you can breathe in all you want for as long as you want and still no calories! The extra oxygen you take in will cause the chemical reactions in your body to take place much faster, thus, you burn more calories than you take in. This in turn speeds up your metabolism and makes you burn more fat and so helps detox your body. Deep Breathing can also be a quick and easy stress reliever.

In short, deep breathing raises levels of blood oxygen, promoting health in many ways — from stimulating the digestive process to improving fitness and mental performance. . . Remember, you are breathing right now. Every day, you have 20,000 opportunities to transform how you breathe and enhance your health and well-being.

Photo by Mr Lover. in China

Directions: Try this exercise sitting, standing and lying down.
1. Exhale deeply, contracting the belly.
2. Inhale slowly as you expand the abdomen.
3. Continue inhaling as you expand the chest.
4. Continue inhaling as you raise the shoulders up towards your ears.
5. Hold for a few comfortable seconds
6. Exhale in reverse pattern, slowly. Release shoulders, relax chest, contract the belly.
7. Repeat.

This exercise will require gentle practice to produce smooth and balanced inhalation and exhalation. Beginners should only do it 2 or 3 times continuously.

So Are You Trying Now?? :P
Tarot reading for JOY -6/7/06

Today is not the best day for maintaining your equilibrium, dear JOY… The Hanged Man in alliance with the Pope could signify trouble in your love life and heated discussions. If you’re single, avoid all futile discussions with obstinate people… If you are in a relationship, don’t embark on any discussions about topics where the two of you don’t see eye to eye. In other words: withdraw rather than fight a duel! In the professional sphere, you might well experience a disappointment with regard to an agreement or a contract that you thought you had secured. The Hanged Man, symbolizing the professional context, is the messenger of bad news and of frustrations. He is a serious threat to the fulfillment that you might have expected from the benign presence of Justice. You’ll have to adjust to the notion that you might easily find yourself in an atmosphere of insecurity and tension. Don't lose heart!

Seems like it is a bad day for me. I had just experienced my first frustration of the day - I scalded my finger while making coffee to wake the sleepy pig in me.

What is more to come?? Better for me to stay low and pray today will end earlier with less frustrations and more security. In-equilibrium is bad for libras. :(

Mr. Lover, excuse me if I cause in-equilibrium to your life today too. More Tender, Loving, Care will be appreciated. :P

Money is not required to buy one necessity of the soul.
Henry David Thoreau

Have you ever dreamt of having a job that pays well and yet doing nothing? I am certain this idea crosses many of us before. Today, this idea cross my mind again.

Having lots of money is good. You can buy almost everything in the world. Can be the prettiest girl or most handsome dude in the world. Hmm, if you were to have lots of money, what will you do??

Me... I want to buy a house with a swimming pool, to learn driving and then buy a car, tour around the world, go for all sorts of slimming courses. I am sure there is one that works :P ....and many many.

But will this kinda of life satisfy your needs of the soul? I am not earning big bucks now, but if you were to judge my working time and the amount of work i do, it is rather lucrative. (True only for low periods)

Am I Happy? Nope, not really. I do not feel satisfied and rather sianz of my life. I suppose balance is needed. I am a libra, and strongly believe in balance.........

All Work, No Play makes Jack a dull boy and Joy a dull girl;
All Play, No Work makes Jack a dumb boy and Joy a dumb girl.

Maybe it's time to move away from this comfort zone and create some balance. :)

Brazil is Out!!!

Stay away from me.

Do not come near at all causes today or many days later. Like many brazilian fans out in the world, my heart is in a state of despair. They were eliminated by France, just like the year 1998. They were not able to "revenge" and pick up from where they fall.

But, if you were to think positive, there is at least an improvement. From 3-0 to 1-0. Well, I do not think that's what the fans pray for actually. A goal shattered Brazil's dream to be the Champion.

I am not all happy, and will not try to act like I am or least not bothered. Please do not come and tell me France deserves to win. 'Cos they were on form and Zidane was amazing and Henry is cool.

You maybe the rational one who bets on Brazilian winning and yet clapping and YAY-ing when Henry kicks the goal that sets me and many others heart-broken. You may pull yourself from your bets and really enjoy the game. But to a despaired fan, I am really sorry to tell you I cannot do it and I think you are definitely not a true Brazilian fan.

It sounds immature and childish to even think like that. But at this moment, I do not wish to constrain myself. Like a kid whose favourite toy was lost overnight. Give me the indulgence to stay in my own solitude and let time heals my wound.

It is not the money that I lose; It is the hope and rationality that I lost.
Forgive my rude-ness and blantant-ness
